WebJun 23, 2011 · The chevy tie rod end uses a smaller section of the same taper. Like he said^^^ Pull it apart and put it back in without the boot on so you can see whats going on. Likely that you need the larger one. The taper angle is the same, but the diameter is differant. What I want is the GM 1 ton tie rod/draglink set-up that results in an inverted T with the draglink mounting to the pass side tierod. Some people have said they've just put the GM parts in and tightened it up and ran it.
